The most awaited competition of the evening for Swiss fans was the men’s 800 metres which featured the comeback of their local hero André Bucher, who made his seasonal debut finishing third in 1:46.46 behind Canada’s Achraf Tadili who took the win in 1:45.78 beating the 2004 World Junior Saeed Majeed Sultan, runner-up in 1:46.42.

“I am happy with the race but we were unlucky to run on a wet track which made me feel unconfortable during the race. I came from a 1:46 race in Lille so I am happy with my progress today. I hope to run 1:44 and to be invited in the Paris Golden League meeting on 1 July”, said Tadili.
