Reed and Tadili At the 18th Victoria International Track Classic
PacificSport Ticker
May 27, 2006

Gary Reed and Achraf Tadili rank one-two in Canada in the 800m and UVic is the place to be when they face off at the Victoria International Track Classic on June 11 in Victoria. Both are registered with the PacificSport National Athletics Centre; Reed training with Wynn Gmitroski and Tadili with Brent Fougner.

While Reed is the current Canadian record holder at 1:44.33 and is ranked 6th in the world, Tadili, ranked 31st internationally, recently won Silver (1:46.93) at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne Australia while Reed did not make the finals (1:47.25). Earlier this year, at the 2006 Cargill Indoor Games, Reed took the 600m in 1:18.15, followed closely by Tadili in 1:18.21. Reed looks to be the stronger runner on paper, but you’ll need to check it out in person to witness this race! Read Full Story
