Saturday night Achraf stepped onto Mexican soil for the first time this season at the Grand Prix of Mexico. Achraf, who earlier this month reaffirmed his confidence by running a 400 metre race, knew he could rely on his explosive kick, and that he did Saturday night.

Sitting in 6th place for the majority of the race, Achraf made a crucial move with 200m to go, sprinting past Bernard Legat securing his second place result. In only Achraf's second 800m of the season, he continued to fine tune in preparation for Olympic Trials.
