Montreal's Tadili wins gold, sets Canadian mark at Pan Ams

Achraf Tadili of Montreal broke the Canadian record and posted the fastest time in the world this year en route to gold in the men's 800-metres Wednesday at the Pan American Games.

The Moroccan-born Tadili clocked 1:45.05 to break the previous national mark of 1:45.13 set by Freddie Williams of Toronto at the 1993 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany.

The 23-year-old Tadili, who was last after the first lap, is the first Canadian in 40 years to win the event at Pan Ams. READ FULL STORY
